Recently, LinkedIn started to impose some limits on invites to connect.
LinkedIn outreach is one of the best ways to generate leads for your business – you can connect with CEOs, Founders and other decision makers and make sales.
But how many LinkedIn Connection Requests can I send per day or per week?
We’ve tried to dig into the issue and have found out the following details.
What are the current LinkedIn invite limits?
LinkedIn itself doesn’t say it directly, but as we’ve gathered from our experience and the customer stories, the current LinkedIn invite limit is around 100 requests per week.
Also, there seems to be a more generic daily action limit, which limits LinkedIn messages and invites combined to around 250 per day.
Why is there a limit?
It used to be possible to send hundreds of invites on a daily basis, but it seems that these days are gone. LinkedIn is trying to crack down on spammers and has started to impose stricter limits on connection requests and messages.
Does the limit apply to all LinkedIn users?
It seems that the limit applies both to free and premium LinkedIn users. However, it also looks like LinkedIn applies different limits and is more or less strict to individual accounts, i.e. it doesn’t treat every user the same.
How do I know if I’ve reached the weekly invite limit?
LinkedIn will display a popup with the restriction message when you will attempt to send another request next time.
Don’t worry – it’s a temporary restriction and will not affect the standing of your account.
How can I remove the weekly invite limit?
It’s not possible to remove it yourself – but it will be lifted automatically by LinkedIn itself after a week.
How can I avoid triggering the invite limit?
Some of the things we’ve noticed:
- Make sure that your invites are getting accepted. LinkedIn is more likely to limit connection requests if many of your invites are being ignored or rejected.
- Try to narrow down your lead selection. And make the invite messages more personal – to make them more likely to be accepted.
- Withdraw the old pending requests to connect.
- Try to connect with 2nd level connections.
What can I do to work around the LinkedIn invite limit?
There are many options available to still get more leads and sales besides sending invites directly.
You can send InMails to contacts that are not your connections – it can be free if a contact has open network.
You can message group members – if you a member of a group, you can message other members of that group.
Warm up your leads before inviting them to connect – you can view their profile a few times, like their posts and follow them. Doing this for some time before sending an invite can make the process more natural. It will also make it more likely for the invite to get accepted.
Use multiple different LinkedIn accounts – if you’re working in a team \ company, you can try to spread the lead generation activity between the accounts of your team.
With the help of our app, you can automate the whole process of searching for the leads, warming them up and sending invites – while also managing the limits and schedule yourself. It will also make it much more easier to manage multiple accounts in one place.
